Stay healthy during the flu season!
We appreciate and continually use the tissues, Purell, antibacterial soap, and Clorox wipes which you send in. Thanks!
If your children are sick at home please have them rest and get well. Do not worry about having work sent home from school. Have them READ!, practice Math facts, go to the Spelling Link or one of the other Learning Links on our webpage or Mrs. Gibbons' webpage. We will make up necessary work when your child returns to school.
Wonderful things happen
"When We're Together."
When we're together the earth greens,
When we're together the birds wing,
When we're together my heart sings
A song of friendship and love.

READING
We practice the strategies of good readers every day.
We review the letter sounds while reading many books.
We make CONNECTIONS with our readings to help us understand what we read.
We predict what might happen.
We retell the story remembering the character, setting, and plot. The plot has a beginning, middle, and end.

MATH
We use the Doubles Facts and Facts of Ten to help us add and subtract. It is important to memorize the number facts! They are a neccessary "tool" in learning other Math skills.
Please practice your number facts every day.You can practice these facts by making flash cards and having someone at home quiz you. Why don't you begin with these addition facts?
Doubles Facts:
1+1=2 2+2=4 3+3=6 4+4 = 8 5+5=10 6+6=12 7+7=14 8+8=16 9+9=18
Facts of 10:
1+9=10 9+1=10 2+8=10 8+2=10 3+7=10 7+3=10 4+6=10 6+4=10 5+5=10
